Auto*Mate follows the progress of the project including meetings with politicians headed by Prague Mayor Pavel Bem, group bike-rides, promotional events and debates to capture the growth of this inspiring, city awakening initiative. Full of funny and surprising moments, this is the film examining and creating connections and inviting political and personal responsibility. Screened as a part of the DocSpot documentary series at the Barbican, the film will be followed by a debate with director Martin Marecek and Deepa Patel, director of SlowDownLondon, London-based organisation promoting alternative modes of experiencing a city. Chaired by Patrick Hazard, director of the London International Documentary Festival, the debate will compare experiences in Prague and London and discuss current trends in urbanism.
