Itinerary
Saturday
On a comfortable train, shortly after noon, we arrive to Falmouth, our base for this weekend.
Falmouth is Cornwall’s leading South West Coast Resort and home to the County’s Maritime Heritage. Here you will find sandy golden beaches Gyllyngvase, Swanpool and Meanporth, spectacular scenery from cliff-top walks and impressive fortress Pendennis Castle.
Falmouth’s natural harbour is the third deepest in the world. It provides a picturesque background to the busy main street. In the main street you will find a charming mix of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Try traditional Cornish food - Cornish cream tea, traditionally made ice cream, taste locally caught seafood (we recommend local oysters) and don’t forget the famous Cornish Pasty.
Checked in our hostel we walk along National Maritime Museum to Pendennis Castle with great views of Falmouth, beaches and sea. From there fine cliff-top walk leads us to Swanpool and Meanporth, most attractive beaches in the area. Now relax and enjoy the summer as it should be.
Back to Falmouth indulge seafood specialities or Cornish Pasty and local ales and get ready for Sunday surfing.
Sunday
Master our surfing skills
After light breakfast we will be picked up directly from the hostel and transported by our surf instructor to best beach of the day for our training. During nearly 3 hours we will learn beach safety, surfboard information, how to get the hang of paddling, catching the waves, getting on feet and coaching how to stand.
Ideal for complete beginners, no previous experience is necessary. All equipments will be provided. All surf instructors are BSA qualified and passionate in surfing.
Still on the wave of a new experience, enjoy the lunch back to Falmouth. And in the afternoon visit great exhibitions in National Maritime Museum, learn about the war history of Pendennis Castle or just simply wander in picturesque Falmouth streets and relax with a cup Cornish cream tea by the sea.
