 ntry lanes\, through lush orchards and across fields.\n\nFirst we pass the 
 wonderfully atmospheric Knole House\, a fascinating survivor of great house
  splendour. We stop for a quick tea break and a group picture with Knole as
  a background. Have your cameras ready!\nAs the Knole House has 365 rooms –
  one for every day of the year – it´s best saved for your separate visit an
 other day.\n\nThrough magnificent deer park at Knole we head off to The Nat
 ional Trust Ightham Mote. This Tudor manor house looks like a quaint half-t
 imbered cottage writ large\, ringed by a moat and it is crammed with treasu
 res. It is worth a visit and as Ightham Mote is just in the middle of the w
 alk it is a good stop for the lunch as well.\n\nFrom Ightham Mote the walk 
 becomes no just pretty but spectacular. The walk ascends a high ridge\, fol
 lowing part of the established Greensand Way\, with terrific views south to
  the High Weald.\nFrom the ridge we enter deer park at Knole again\, walkin
 g past the high ragstone walls of Knole House itself.\n\nWe round the day w
 ith a pint of refreshing ale in a nearby pub before we set on our journey b
